Fundraising goal met (and raised)!

Goal Thermometer
Raised since 12/16/10
Thanks to you we have met our initial goal for funding a public opinion poll (see below). We are now starting to raise the goal on this page because we're ready to begin raising money to counter our opponents' inevitable attacks. At some point we expect out-of-state interest groups to arrive, and your support in advance would be much appreciated.

For those who are wondering, we can certainly accept donations from out-of-state!

Recap of our original goal, met yesterday:
Our first goal was to raise $2250 (online, on top of the amount raised offline) to pay for the first statewide public opinion poll taken on any gay issues in several years. We will be testing support for marriage equality, civil unions, and specific provisions or variations upon our marriage proposal. This poll is going to be essential for demonstrating support for marriage equality to state legislators.

Through a big push on the netroots, you helped us reach our goal by raising over $2300 in under 24 hours!!! We were briefly the 5th hottest campaign of the week on ActBlue. I can't thank all of you enough for getting us there.

UPDATE: Instead of taking a hint when the legislature voted down a constitutional amendment and then when Delaware's voters elected even more Democrats, NOM is still trying to petition for an amendment. They say they will have an amendment proposal introduced by mid-March. Here's a screenshot I just took off their website:

This is just the beginning. That's why we'll need your help to fight back against these out-of-state agents of intolerance.
